About CrudeOilPrice.org
CrudeOilPrice.org is an independent reference site for live crude oil prices and clear, sourced explanations of how the oil market works.
What we do
We bring together live Brent and WTI prices, interactive charts and in-depth explainers in one fast, uncluttered site. Our readers include individual investors, students, journalists, and businesses whose costs depend on fuel prices.
Where the data comes from
- Live quotes and charts are embedded from TradingView. Symbols TVC:UKOIL and TVC:USOIL track front-month ICE Brent and NYMEX WTI futures. Data may be delayed depending on exchange licensing.
- Historical prices come from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) spot price series for Europe Brent and Cushing WTI.
- Contract specifications come from the exchanges: ICE Futures Europe and CME Group.
- Market fundamentals are drawn from primary sources: EIA, IEA, OPEC and the CFTC.
Editorial standards
- We cite primary sources for figures and state the date of the data.
- We do not publish price predictions as fact. Where forecasts are shown, we name the institution that made them and the date.
- We review pages when underlying data changes and show the date of the last update on each article.
- We correct errors promptly when we find them or when underlying data is revised.
